Bruce Springsteen had it right- "Baby we were born to run!" While The Boss may have been speaking metaphorically, our bodies are built for movement.



Running burns more energy over the same distance than walking so if you are looking to lose weight or improve your overall health running will help you reach your goal much faster. If you need motivation, signing up for a fun run event is an excellent goal to work towards.

Imagine this, as the sun sets over the magnificent Brisbane River, there you are pounding the pavement, with 5000 of your closest friends, everyone completely focussed on the finish line. You are sweating, your heart is pounding and you feel…GREAT!

The Brisbane Twilight Running Festival offers a variety of running events including ½ Marathon, 10KM Run, 5KM Run/Walk and a 1KM Active Kids Run.

If you have never run before the 5KM Run/Walk is a great way to get started. You don't have to run the whole way and you will get the added motivation of being surrounded by other people trying to improve their fitness. It feels good to be a part of a big event not to mention the "runner's high" that you will have after the event.

The course covers the University of St Lucia campus. The events start from 2pm on Sunday 24th March and activities include a jumping castle for the kids and zorb ball. You can register a team of 4 or more or choose to go solo. There are prizes and awards on offer but the real value is the personal satisfaction of completing your chosen distance.

Registrations are open online at www.twilightrun.com.au . Participants will receive a running singlet (adults) or a running visor (kids).
