A great deal of what ends up in Brisbane landfill are items that, with a quick patch job, can be used again. The Brisbane City Council realised this and opened the (46 Colebard Street West, Acacia Ridge) in response.

The Tip Shop takes salvageable items from the city's four transfer stations and gives them a new lease of life. Amongst the objects selected for re-sale are furniture, collectables, books, toys and sports equipment. These items are sold for a fraction of their cost brand new, and more cheaply then you would find in most op shops. The is operated by the Endeavour Foundation and is open on weekends from 8.00am until 4.00pm.

Rumour has it that the Tip Shop sold out completely during its opening weekend, so be sure to get in early if you want to grab a bargain.
