Formerly known as the Brisbane Sinfonia, the orchestra was formed in 1990, and consisted of various persons from all walks of life, including medical specialists, lawyers and professional musicians, all drawn together by a special cord – their love of music. Since then, their annual concerts have provided entertainment for many, from the likes of Beethoven, Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky, to mention but a few. The orchestra has performed in and around Brisbane, including venues in areas such as Toowoomba, Noosa, the Gold Coast and Caloundra. Sharing their love of classical music has provided great enjoyment both to the orchestra and the wider community. Soloists and conductors from the Queensland Orchestra and from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music have regularly worked with the renowned orchestra.
With several concerts being held throughout the year, this one is the last before the New Year comes around, so don't miss out on hearing this orchestra play. For classic music lovers, this is a real treat, and to hear the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra live is quite special, and the composers and musicians put in a lot of time and effort to make these types of concerts a success, so put this event down as a date claimer.
Of course, the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra has played alongside such music ensembles as the Youth Orchestra of St. Peters Lutheran Church, and their music is broadcast on local radio station as well. The great thing about this orchestra is that, as a non-profit organisation, they volunteer to make their classical music heard in Brisbane, and also in the surrounding areas. And you are invited to hear their musical talents at their Jacaranda Concert at South Bank.
