Art in action
There's a smell of aerosol paint in the air and lanes full of step ladders and mask-covered artists. The Brisbane Street Art Festival is underway and it's all free to check out in the streets and lanes of Brisbane over the next fortnight.

Live mural - Wickham St Fortitude Valley

Over the Easter long weekend and the next couple of weekends, you can check out 'live murals' by individual and numerous artists alongside each other at various locations around Brisbane. It's fascinating to watch the various processes used, from prep to completion.

We'll be going back next weekend to check out the completed works and do like we did this weekend - drop into The New Black Cafe around the corner in Ann St, near Bakery Lane, for some freshly brewed Black Lab coffee and delectable cakes from adjoining dessert bakery, Cakes and Sh!t. No joke, that's what it's called!
