When was the last time you embarked on a treasure hunt? Too long ago to remember as you were only just out of the sandpit?
is a treasure hunt for families, adults, couples and groups which takes you around some of the historic and interesting sites around the Brisbane CBD. During this adventure, your team will have puzzles to solve, tasks to complete, and questions to answer. The more tasks you complete correctly, the more points you earn, essentially pitting you against other teams.
Think you know Brisbane? I've lived here thirty years and learned more of the history of our beautiful city, discovering things and places I had never seen or heard of before.
There are approximately twenty challenges which should take approximately two hours to complete.
Easy?
This is where we ventured completely off course, completing all but the last two challenges in five and a half hours. You see, the hunt took us past so many interesting landmarks that we stayed for further investigation. We enjoyed a coffee at the Treasury Casino and walked through the markets at the Botanical Gardens, a Suitcase Rummage in the Mall, and marvelled at some gorgeous old architecture. The Scavenger Hunt, with instructions, maps and details from your phone or tablet, could be paused at any time, which allowed for these diversions.
The last challenges required an uphill walk and I was just too exhausted to continue. My fault - next time I will stay focussed and will not stop to listen to buskers. This leads me to a couple of really important tips:
%%1) Take drinking water
2) Wear a hat and/or suntan lotion.%%
Tickets to are available online
here. You can start your adventure at any time, any day or time, no reservation required, and tickets are valid for two years. Tickets are tailored to adults, couples and groups.
Neither my partner nor myself are very tech-savvy but younger folks will have absolutely no issues navigating the requirements. GPS? Never turned it on before in our lives! Video camera? We have gained new skills on so many levels.
Would I undertake a Scavenger Hunt again? Yes, and I think tickets would make a great gift for family and friends. There are Scavenger Hunts in 400 cities across the world. What fun!
NOTE: Unable to divulge the location of ghallenges so these are just some obscure photos from the day. Good luck!
