The 28th of January kicks off a busy week for Brisbane Roar FC. Starting with their first match against the Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday (check out my other match preview here for more details), the Roar boys will then take on Sydney FC as part of the A-league competition on February 3rd, as well as their first Asian Champions League (ACL) match against either Global FC or Tampines Rovers FC on January 31st.
The Asian Champions League is the precursor to the Club World Cup. This competition is similar to the World Cup, except the participants are club sides, not national teams. The best and consistent teams in the A-league earn the right to take part in the ACL for the following year. So in this year's ACL, Brisbane has a chance to rise all the way to the top and be recognised as the best football club in the world.
Brisbane Roar FC have announced that three game unreserved tickets are now available. Free travel with Translink applies as normal.
