The Brisbane Organic Growers club is hosting their 26th annual Brisbane Organic Growers Fair in Windsor, Brisbane on Sunday, 2 October from 9am to 3pm. Open to the public, this family event brings forth a wealth of information and knowledge on the benefits of organic growing and living.

Gardening lovers will revel in the wide range of activities planned like free gardening advice, demonstrations, produce stalls, member's organic produce competition and special guest speakers Annette McFarlane and the North Pine Poultry Club.

There are plenty of stalls for you to mosey on through. Various items are available for purchase including a healthy range of fresh produce, preserves, vegetable plants, herbs and fruit trees and more. Take the family for a bite to eat at the Brisbane Organic Growers Cafe where you'll find freshly cooked organic sausages and healthy servings of cakes, quiches and salads.

This is a free event, open to the public and is an ideal opportunity to learn about organic growing and living. There are many experts available to answer all and any questions you have. No question is too hard for these seasoned organic growers who can provide you with information for everything from worm farms to chook tractors, making your own compost, growing your own fruits and vegetables the organic way and how to preserve a healthy garden in the event of drought or water shortages.

One of the highlighted features of this event is the member's competition. Showcasing their organic produce throughout various categories, the public will have some fun participating in the action afterwards with produce items being auctioned off at the end of the day.

Run by volunteers, this not-for-profit community organisation relies on fundraising events like this annual fair to support their club. New members are always welcome. Click here for information about joining.

The 26th annual is held at The Peace Hall, 102 McDonald Road, Windsor. Parking on the grounds is limited, however, there is plenty of parking in the nearby streets. Albion Railway Station is located within close proximity to the fair. For specific details on getting to the fair click here . Pet owners please be aware there are no dogs allowed at the fair.
