Spring movies on the Green at South Bank
Brisbane Openair Cinemas is back for a new year with a new sponsor, but with all the cinematic thrills, spills and chills you're used to from one of Brisbane's favourite events. Brisbane kicks off the summer of cinema roadshow around the country and South Bank's Rainforest Green will once again host all the film fun, this year launching on Friday 6 October and running all the way through to Sunday 19 November.
The first night film this year is Logan Lucky, with an almost unrecognisable Daniel Craig and the final night will feature The Mountain Between Us with Idris Elba and Kate Winslet. In between there'll be everything from The World War 2 epic, Dunkirk; for the kids, The Emoji Movie and the LEGO Ninjago Movie; the feel-good movie, Gifted; a Halloween special showing of It; and even that old chestnut, a Grease sing along. Plus lots, lots more. You can see the full calendar and buy tickets online here.
Food and Drink The Openair Bar will be serving up beer, cider, wine, and soft drinks, while the menu from Salt Meets Cheese will have a range of pizza, pasta and charcuterie boards. Yum.
AMEX Card Members can enjoy a VIP experience in the American Express Invites Lounge, 15% off tickets and complimentary blanket hire. See online here for details and to book.
