If you have 76 trombones you might be able to lead this great parade; even if you don't, you can join in anyway!

Brisbane on Parade commences at 4.00pm on Saturday, 1 November, 2014.

Take this opportunity to help show Brisbane as the creative and unique destination we all know it to be. The world will be watching our great city in the lead up to the G20 Leaders Summit and the Brisbane on Parade event is a major part of that spectacle.

The Parade is part of Brisbane's G20 Cultural Celebrations and has been designed to give everybody the chance to be involved in a warm, colourful and friendly welcome for the delegates, visitors and fellow travellers to Brisbane.

Join together with your sidekicks and the other participants in this monster parade of community groups, sporting organisations, dance groups and club members of every kind dressed to define themselves and how we represent ourselves to the world. Groups of five or more can register as a unit or register yourself as an individual and arrangements can be made for you to join a group. Groups and organisations already registered include members of the Girl Guides, lifesavers, whip-cracking country women, Latin dancers, a wheelchair basketball squad and hip hop dancers – you know you can fit in there somewhere!

The parade route starts at the Southbank parklands and snakes along the Southbank promenade to finish up back at the Cultural Forecourt alongside the 'Brisbane' sign at Southbank Parklands.

The whole parade will be a mass of people and colour so join the fun and register yourself and a few mates and you're in! Online registration is open from September 1 until October 11, 2014. Register your interest here and the team from the Parade's organisation will be in touch to discuss your details. It's all free so get involved either by participating, helping out or by joining all the fun as the Parade travels its course.

Once registered you can participate in free costume workshops with some amazing artists to teach and support your ideas. These workshops are to be facilitated well before the parade so if your community group, sports team, service club or seniors' team needs help to change your inspiration into a reality there will be artists, cheerleaders and performers of any kind available to make it happen.

Thousands of people are expected to participate in the parade and thousands more will be there to cheer them on so even if you aren't taking part in the parade, come along to watch and help kick off the G20 Cultural Celebrations.
