People may not know however, Down Syndrome is not an illness or a disease, it is a genetic condition that as afflicted people throughout history. It is caused by an extra chromosome in the DNA. In each cell there are 46 chromosomes; in Down Syndrome people, there are 47 chromosomes. It is the most common chromosome disorder that is known and one in 700/900 babies born Worldwide will have Down Syndrome.



On Saturday 16th November 2019, Down Syndrome Queensland are hosting including a scrumptious afternoon tea for all Brisbane North Families at Teralba Park, Osborne Road, Everton Park. To find the group, just look for the banners and flags displayed near the play area. Please bring a plate to share.
