You have heard of snakes on a plane, well, how about no pants on a train?

Every January the 13th, you are likely to get an eye full if you are travelling on a Brisbane train. You migh manage to grab a peak-hour seat, only to look up and come face to full frontal with a pair of boxer shorts, jocks or skimpy panties.

The project starts when a whole lot of people, who do not necessarily know each other but are coordinating through social media, take their daks off and pretend that they are behaving absolutely normally as they ride on your train.

Absolutely love this video of this year's event because as you shall see, everyone is in on the act.

Apparently all you need to participate is the ability to have fun and to keep a straight face.

The idea started in 2002, in New York City, when a group of fun-loving friends got together to see what reactions they might get. You can find out about the project in the video below.

They got on the subway at random points, in their underwear acting otherwise normally and pretending not to know each other.

The silly thing is New York in January it is the grip of winter, so the rest of their attire included jackets, mittens, scarves and hats.

Thankfully in Brisbane no one will freeze their butt off.

Since that first No Pants Subway Ride, it has become an annual event staged not only in New York but in over 50 countries all over the world.

If you want to participate next year, or simply avoid a certain train on January the 13th, then Like this Facebook page to remain in the loop.
