Soothe your soul with the sounds of jazz
Ladies and gentleman, step right up and come along to one of Brisbane's most soulful and sort after venues; The Brisbane Jazz Club.

Be soothed by the cooling sounds of jazz in this relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Once you step inside the venue, you will be instantly transported into another world. The Brisbane Jazz Club oozes cool with their dimly lit interior, red and black décor and their stunning grand piano which sits on their petite stage in front of the stunning views of the Brisbane river. As I sat, enjoying my breakfast from the lovely buffet, I could not help but feel like I had somehow stepped right onto the set of Chicago.

This wonderful not-for-profit organisation is conveniently located in the heart of Kangaroo Point. Here you can sit, relax and enjoy a hearty meal while you let the talented and unique musicians work their magic. Whether it be a scrumptious dinner or a delectable Sunday brunch, this venue will have you covered. The acoustics here are fantastic, so wherever you sit, you will be guaranteed a good spot.

I was fortunate enough to be graced by the talents of the Wendy Murray Quintet on a beautiful lazy Sunday morning. Wendy's charisma and charm transfixed the audience with her strong and soulful voice. She was surrounded by her talented band which added to her sweet sound with smooth and sexy drums, bass, trumpet, sax and piano. Wendy and her band wowed the crowd with wonderful and unique renditions of Nina Simone, Ray Charles and Sting. I was particularly taken by a wonderful Iranian prayer they had converted to song. Their clean and crisp performances also featured wonderful original songs that make your heart sing. To find out more about the Wendy Murray Quintet, visit their website for all the details on their up and coming performances and be sure to book yourself a ticket!
