The annual
Brisbane Irish Festival will be back from 2 March to 17 March 2025 beaming with good luck to celebrate Irish culture and community.
The cornerstones of Irish culture are embedded in lively music and dancing, traditions and folklore rich in cheeky leprechauns and sweet fairies.
St Patrick's Day is celebrated in honour of Ireland's patron saint, missionary and legendary figure
St Patrick who is credited with the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. And Brisbane is joining in celebrating this international cultural event.
St Patricks Day Parade
A major part of the South East Queensland-based festival is the colourful, joyful and processional St Patrick's Day Parade. The FREE parade, which features rollicking music, leg-kicking dance, and traditional costumes
begins at the City Botanic Gardens at 10:30 am and follows a 1km path to wind its way through the City wrapping up
back at Alice Street at 11:30 am.
See and cheer over 700 participants and over 40 floats as they weave, dance, and play in traditional costumes in the Carnival atmosphere. The St Patrick’s Day Parade has been held in the streets of Brisbane city since 1989. This all-ages, family-friendly celebration of community and culture is open to everyone.
As well as the parade, other festival events include:
St Patrick's Day Concert
Brisbane Irish Festival Charity Ball
Lighting the City Green;
St Patrick's Eve Dinner
(
Note that some of these are ticketed events).
So get out your shamrocks, join in the fun and celebrate Irish culture and religious traditions at this year's Brisbane Irish Festival.
