Tango is a fun and relaxing social dance that you will love

Tango dancing is fun, sensual and creates a beautiful connection. Originating from Argentina, it has become one of the most popular dances throughout the world.

Tango is more than just dance - it is great for health & wellbeing and making new friends! Not to mention the connection you create as you learn to 'move as one'!

The Brisbane House of Tango has a great reputation as one of the best places to learn tango in Brisbane.

Enrolments for their upcoming 4-week 'Introduction to Argentine Tango' course in Toowong (Monday nights, starting 1st July) and Kelvin Grove (Wednesday nights, starting 3rd July) are now open.

The classes are conducted by David Blair and Anita West, Brisbane's premiere tango instructors. Together, they will help you become the best dancer you can be!

Ongoing courses will focus on a variety of movements including ochos, giros, ganchos (hooking legs), boleos (swinging legs), wraps (intertwining legs), colgadas (hanging off-axis) and volcadas (leaning off-axis).

Hundreds of happy students have attended the Brisbane House of Tango's previous courses and have gained so much. For men, tango is not only a new skill but can also help improve the ability to lead, increase confidence which can transfer over into one's general life. For women, the meditative benefits that come from 'not thinking' when you dance and the connection that comes from being in the moment has been shown to improve brain functions, by combining both cerebral and cognitive thought processes with muscle memory.

Students are not required to have a partner to participate in this course and absolutely no dance experience is necessary! Beginner students needn't feel anxious as the Brisbane House of Tango instructors and existing students are friendly and encouraging. Even if you have 'two left feet', you will be pleasantly surprised how quickly you progress!

Students who complete the Brisbane House of Tango introductory courses have the opportunity to continue learning via their ongoing 4-week courses. You will be guided through all the movements required to be a great dancer.
