I went along to the $49 per head experience with 14 others to celebrate a girlfriend's baby shower. There were many large tables in celebration mode. Celebrations included 21st birthday parties, hen's days and impending births.
To survive the experience here are some tips for the unprepared (like I was).
This includes: Arrive adequately hungry. High heels and your weekend best dress are essential. Expect that you will only be able to communicate with those closest to you due to the noise of hundreds of women's chatter. Sit near people you like.
Bring your camera for the fabulous views of the Story Bridge, Brisbane River and the high tea food. Organise a walking trip or other form of exercise to offset feelings of guilt.
The food at the Stamford Plaza high tea is incredible. The quality ingredients create a wonderful range of treats. To tempt your taste buds, these include, popcorn chocolate macaroons, manjari chocolate tart, red velvet cake, Lindt white chocolate treacle scones, crème brulee chocolate cheesecake and strawberries. To offset the sweet a range of sandwiches are on hand including ham sandwich with seeded mustard, poached egg and parsley on white loaf and roast chicken, rocket and aioli.
