Physically, mentally and emotionally, exercise can be a lifesaver for parents.

Sometimes it's fun to bring kids with you to a Mums and Bubs class. But other times, Mum or Dad just needs alone time without a mini sidekick.

At gyms with a creche, your little one is cared for on site so you can work out in peace but quickly return if needed. Here's an alphabetical directory to help you find the perfect one for you - and your children.

Active Life Fitness, Everton Hills and Norman Park

Active Life is the gym I go to now. I can't speak to the Norman Park gym, but the Everton Hills gym has a fabulous creche with lots of indoor and outdoor space.

It looks hectic at class changeover time, but dead quiet at other times. The staff in the creche are lovely.

AJs Sports Centre, Algester
AJs seems to have it all - gym, pool, classes, squash, sauna, pilates AND a creche.

Albany Creek Leisure Centre
As well as gym and group fitness you can also use the pool here at Albany Creek Leisure Centre .

Breathe, Northlakes
The Breathe Kids Club is open in the mornings and some evenings, six days a week.

CBJ Health Club, Macgregor
Children playing in the creche at CBJ are divided into three separate areas to cater for their age.

City 4051 CrossFit, Newmarket
City 4051 CrossFit offers child minding services Monday - Friday at every 9:15am session.

Club Coops, Carseldine
Offering childminding for parents keen on group fitness, tennis, squash and small group training is Club Coops .

Fernwood, various locations
It's a women-only zone here at Fernwood !

Pure Health Club is an "anti-gym" offering a range of classes but specialising in reformer pilates.

UFitness, North Lakes
UFitness is a boutique gym specialising in functional fitness. It offers child minding six mornings a week and some evenings.

Venus Health and Fitness, Coorparoo
A women's only gym with a nurturing environment, Venus naturally offers child minding .

Workout, Indooroopilly
The play room here is open Monday to Saturday mornings and even has a special zone for babies.

World Gym, Daisy Hill and Yeerongpilly
The creches at World Gym Southside (Daisy Hill) and World Gym Yeerongpilly offer both morning and afternoon sessions for you to come and work out while the kids play.
