The Brisbane Festival is going out with a BANG! Saturday 29 September 2018 from 2-8.30pm is set for the biggest event on the Brisbane Riverstage, 59 Gardens Point, Brisbane CBD. Coming to a close after 3 weeks of epic Sunshine State celebrations, this all-ages bash comes with a massive lineup of Australia's brightest talent, including homegrown heavyweights like one of Australia's biggest rock band, Violent Soho and rising superstars; hugely talented singer/songwriter Meg Mac, Perth art rock band Methyl Ethel, Brisbane post-punk five-piece WAAX and, alternative MANE.
A stand-alone marquee at the iconic Riverstage, grab your tickets to an event combining spectacular music and pyrotechnics. Please note, access to Riverstage via Goodwill Bridge closes at 4pm due to Sunsuper Riverfire preparations. If you've bought your ticket to the Closing Party before Friday 31 Aug 2018, you'll go into the draw to WIN a M&G with Violent Soho.

Celebrate Brisbane River of Light every night of the festival from 6.30-9.30pm at the Cultural Forecourt, South Brisbane. This art-meets-technology water fountain, light and laser spectacular is a spellbinding celebration of our river that illuminates the night. it tells a traditional story of the dreaming serpent that wove the river into being and created the life blood of our city.
The program is brimming with big-name acts and more world premieres than ever. With almost 600 performances, 100 of them free, of almost 70 shows across 17 venues. More than a thousand artists are involved. Program highlights include two major Riverstage events bookending the Festival on Opening and Closing Night. In a first for this festival, the massive program is presented in three distinct acts; one for each of the three weeks of activity from 8-29 September.
Act 1 revolves around ideas of home, memory and gender. Act 2 casts the individual against the giant forces of nature, fate and society, in thrilling expressions of circus, dance and music. In its final week, Act 3 delivers a fierce and fun climax, including a mind-bending scary movie homage. The 22-day celebration crescendos Saturday 29 September with Brisbane's much-loved fireworks celebration Sunsuper Riverfire igniting the city skyline for its 21st anniversary year. This year's super fun soundtrack is themed on Sci-Fi and Superheroes.
