The holidays are nigh people! And the Sunshine State is going to be rocking this Easter -- what with the gloriously long, hot Summer we are having (yes, Autumn is still bringing in the 30's!).

Tourism operators are high-fiving each other with the predicted bookings that interstate and overseas visitors are making to our State these Easter holidays. That one last ditch attempt of soaking up those Summer rays are certainly paying off. If you're thinking about jumping on a jet plane to our fair shores, read on for some ridiculously cool (and different) things to add to your Easter 'things-to-do' list this April:

NEXT HOTEL EASTER WEEKEND
If you're an out-of-towner you need to know about Next Hotel Brisbane . Based in Queen Street Mall, its location is second to none and perfect for families over the Easter break with their Staycation over the Easter long weekend. Includes heaps of freebies and fun Easter themed stuff - plus you're only a hop, skip and away from South Bank, GOMA and the Queensland Museum.

PUZZLED ROOM ESCAPE
Okay ... this may seem a little cray-cray. Basically, you and a group of friends are to be locked into a room. Yep. And the idea is to decipher and work out clues to get yourselves out. With themes such as Puzzle Tech Murder and Haunted Academy it's definitely for the 12 years and older ... but geez, what a heap of fun! Such a great concept - definitely give this a try.

HOLEY MOLEY - NO IFs, JUST PUTTs
With a tag line like that, we love this place already!

Mini Golf with a difference. This place is set in Fortitude Valley and with a full cocktail bar (called the 'CaddyShack') includes 2 different 9-hole mini golf putt putt courses with some crazy obstacles. The whole concept is just really cool - perfect for an afternoon swing followed by some tunes and drinks. Kind of like heading to the Bowling Club, but Mini Golf instead.

And with Bowling Club in mind ...

MERTHYR BOWLS CLUB - BAREFOOT BOWLS
This is a bit of a Brisbane institution. Situated right on the Brisbane River, next to stunning New Farm park, the location really couldn't get much better. With plenty of tables and seating areas, this place is perfect for a Saturday afternoon of beers and bowls with mates.

STEAM TRAIN SUNDAY[/LINK]
The very last steam locomotive to be built in Australia, all aboard for a historic ride through the cities stations, on a given Sunday once a month - so get in early for your ticket (2nd April is the date for the next departure). This is real kids pleasure!

These are ideas are really only the tip of the iceberg. Check out the Brisbane Kids Guide for more Easter fun things to do in Brisbane these school holidays!
