The Queen spent the first official day of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations indulging in one of her favourite passions - horses. Celebrating six decades on the throne with four days of festivities, the monarch attended the Epsom Derby - considered one of the most exciting and prestigious horse races in the world.
However, with the relief of a long weekend coming up, why not have your own mini-celebration in honour of the Queen and her long reign as well.
On Monday 11th, why not indulge in your own Diamond Jubilee celebrations - you never know, you could even be jet-setting to London for five nights on a luxurious trip for four.
An incentive by the Queensland Government means that as long as you hold your Jubilee party on the public holiday, you would automatically be in the running for either the main prize of a trip to London, or the runner-up prize of a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Memorabilia pack valued at $300.
To enter, submit a "The Big Jubilee Party" entry form and fax to 3224 4065 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
It's up to you whether you throw a barbecue, a picnic lunch or a fancy high tea, but remember, keep it royal and keep your eye on the prize!
