Swap 4 wheels for two and join in over 100 activities during the Brisbane Cycling Festival from 21 March to 13 April 2025 .

Over six weeks, the festival, presented by Auscycling aims to inspire and ensure that current and future generations experience both the simple joy of riding a bike and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Since 2019, the Festival has combined international standard marquee events including the Oceania Championships Track National Championships and Tour de Brisbane with over 100 community-focused events, and activities for everyone to enjoy.

From social rides to competitive racing, here are some of the events happening during this year's Festival:

Tour de Brisbane
One of the showcase events of the Ride through the streets of the rivercity including South Bank, Brisbane River (including the rare chance to experience the Legacy Way tunnel) and Mt Cootha on Sunday 13 April 2025 for the Tour de Brisbane.

There are a range of options for the ride from:

  • 110km UCI Gran Fondo for the serious cyclist where you get to test yourself against the best and qualify for the World Championships.
  • 80km Ride – The full ride experience, minus the mountain climb to Mt Cootha.
  • 50km Ride – A scenic challenge through Brisbane’s best roads.
  • 10km Ride - A gentle glimpse into Brisbane.

  • Active Lifestyle Expo
This free Expo runs for two days from 12 to 13 April 2025 at the Southbank Parklands where you can see AuBike Tester Sessions, Exhibitors profiling products, sports shows, entertainment, bar and food trucks and more.

    The BMX Freestyle
Catch all the jumps, twists and turns from some of the best freestyle BMX athletes as they compete and display their skills at the Village Indoor Skatepark on 23 March 2025 in Brisbane.

    Why Cycle?
If you still need convincing that cycling is a good idea, here are some good reasons to ditch the car keys for a while. Not only is it fun, but there are lots of other good reasons to get on your bike during and after the Festival Cycling.

    Cycling is:
  • Good for health and fitness
  • Reduces traffic congestion
  • Good for the environment to reduce emissions
  • A great exercise for losing weight
  • Helps save money on petrol and increases use of public transport
