Brisbane City Council's CityCycle

My challenge yesterday was to spend the whole day in the Brisbane CBD with only $20 to my name. So I decided to give the Brisbane City Council's CityCycle a whirl.

As a casual subscriber for the day, it cost me a mere $2 and if I kept my riding time within 30 minutes each time I hired a bike, my daily account wouldn't get charged again. But there are excess usage fees if you go over the 30mins, so do yourself a favour and check the website before you go. As long as you obey the road rules and wear a helmet, you'll enjoy yourself.

So off I went seeing everything from live music, markets, street performers etc. And what a fantastic way to reconnect with this beautiful city of ours and see that wonderful laid back Brissy vibe alive again after the devasting floods in January.

So did I meet my challenge of only spending $20 for the day? Actually I did better than that - I came home with $11 in change, a smile on my face and a healthy glow from all that exercise. Now that is the sign of a great day out.
