It's time to start making those lists and checking them twice! It's my favourite time of year when the city comes to life in a dazzling burst of bright lights, tinsel and carolling. Christmas markets in particular are vibing, and the perfect place to pick up your fresh Christmas produce, and those unique gifts that you won't find in the shops. As Christmas draws closer, many of our favourite markets are spreading Christmas cheer by putting on special Christmas Markets; here's a list of the major Christmas markets in Brisbane this festive season.



BrisStyle Indie Markets at Racecourse Rd Community Christmas

**When: Friday 22nd November 2013, 5.00pm - 9.00pm
Where: St Augustine's church and grounds, Racecourse Rd, Hamilton**

These markets are running as part of a fabulous community Christmas event featuring a sausage sizzle, carols by candlelight, free children's activities, Santa, and live music and entertainment.

Botanique Christmas Bazaar

**When: Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd November, 9.00am - 5.00pm and Sunday 24th November, 9.00am - 4.00pm
Where: Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha Rd, Toowong**

For something truly unusual check out the botanically inspired jewellery, clothing, art and gifts.

Mummy Tree Markets - Christmas Twilight Markets

**When: Saturday 24th November, 3.00pm - 7.00pm
Where: River Park Place (Home of Hockey Qld) Col Gardner Drive, Morningside
When: Sunday 8th December, 3.00pm - 7.00pm
Where: St Joseph's Nudgee Junior College – Twigg St Indooroopilly**

Free entry, gourmet food, children's entertainment and a range of unique and quality products/gifts aimed at the family demographic.

QAGOMA Store Christmas Design Market

**When: Saturday 30th November, 9.00am - 4.00pm
Where: Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), South Brisbane**



Extend your shopping horizons and explore ceramics, textiles, paper products, jewellery and fashion, buying direct from some of Australia's most creative makers and designers.

Brisbane Boutique Markets & Mathilda's Market - combined event.

**When: Sunday 30th November, 9.00am - 1.00pm
Where: Eagle Farm Racecourse, Lancaster Rd, Ascot**

A special Christmas event sees two of Brisbane's favourite markets combine to give shoppers double the opportunity to find that special, one of a kind gift, designed and created by local talent; wares include jewellery, art, homewares, clothing, and exclusive children's products.

Fair Trade Christmas Market

**When: Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1 December, 9.30am - 3.30pm
Where: St Aidan's Anglican Girls School, 11 Ruthven St, Corinda**

Enjoy 2 days of shopping, food and live music in air-conditioned comfort. These markets provide shoppers with the opportunity to purchase Fair Trade and ethical gifts of clothing, homewares, jewellery, toys, gift hampers and so many more unique and charitable gifts.



Billycart Markets: Twilight Christmas Market

**When: Saturday 7th December, 3.00pm - 7.00pm
Where: Sacred Heart Primary School, 92 Brighton Rd, Sandgate**

Live music, gourmet food stalls, kid's entertainment and shopping for mum and the little ones; these markets offer unique and styling wares with a focus on handmade, homemade and homegrown, with a retro, chic edge.

West End Twilight Markets

**When: Saturday 7th December, 4.00pm - 9.00pm
Where: to be announced - keep an eye on the website **

My favourite Brisbane markets are moving to a new venue just in time for their special Christmas market. This is the place to shop for the truly unique in an intimate and friendly environment.

BrisStyle Indie Twilight Markets

**When: Friday 13th December, 4.00pm - 9.00pm
Where: King George Square, Adelaide St, Brisbane**

These could be the Christmas markets of the season; lovingly handmade gifts from over 100 local artisan stalls in a lantern lit King George Square, surrounding the Christmas Tree and Pantomime Stage. Enjoy shopping amongst Christmas parade performers and the sweet sounds of live jazz music.



The Collective Markets @ Southbank

**When: Saturdays 10.00am - 9.00pm and Sundays 9.00am - 4.00pm
Where: Stanley St Plaza, Southbank**

Previously known as the Lifestyle Markets, the new look market has dropped the Friday night and extended trading hours on Saturday. No Christmas market per se has been announced but they will run as per usual on the weekends leading up to the big event. With a new focus on the creative, handmade, vintage and emerging designers the Collective Markets offer an exciting array of gifts including fashion items, homewares, collectables, handmade arts and crafts and more.



Moggill Markets: Christmas Twilight Market

**When: Monday 23rd December, 4.00pm - 7.30pm
Where: Brookfield Showgrounds - access through Brookfield State School carpark on Boscombe Road.**

Get your fresh produce, seafood, meat (free range straight from the farm), Christmas cakes and puddings, plants and more at the special Twilight Market; the regular craft market will also be in operation at these markets.

Chandler Markets won't be holding a twilight market this year but they'll be open for business as usual on the Sunday before Christmas for all shopping needs.

Check the Jan Power's Farmers Market website for your local dates and times.

The Brisbane Markets at Rocklea will be open every Saturday up until Christmas from 6.00am - 12.00pm for all fresh produce (Sunday are the Discovery Markets, for gift shopping).

Davies Park Markets at West End every Saturday from 6.00am til 2.00pm for organic and non-organic fresh produce (also a small range of giftware).
