An evening of alt-country, folk and fun
As part of the Brisbane Fringe Festival, the West End Sessions will be taken over by a mini bluegrass festival on August 15 featuring The Company and the Starboard Cannons.

The Company is a great Bluegrass and roots band that can hold an audience with a soulful melody or get people jumping with fierce instrumental prowess. This is the band I am joining the festival to see.

Meanwhile the Starboard Cannons can also cross the range of Bluegrass, by one moment performing great folk songs that will stay with you, and next have you on your feet with shanties and beer hall tunes.

To honest, the term festival is bit too much to describe what is basically a concert, but it is still worth going to for fans of bluesgrass, folk and alt-country, especially as bands like these attract the nicest, liveliest and eclectic crowds.
