Sausage sizzle, live music, and more
On Friday, October 19, 2012, leave your lunch at home. Brisbane's Big City Barbecue, now in its seventh year, will be sizzling sausages for a good cause. Focused on raising money for charity, the Big City Barbecue has raised almost $500,000 since 2006. This year's beneficiaries include Foodbank Australia, DRUG ARM Australasia, and the Lord Mayor's CommunityTrust, supporting Brisbane's homeless and youth in need.

Taking place from 12pm to 2pm at Riparian Plaza, between the Riverside Centre and Eagle Street Pier, this year's event will be hosted by MC Ben Ikin from Triple M. The Brisbane Lord Mayor will officially open the barbecue, followed by an appearance from Queensland Olympians, and exciting entertainment. Performers include Luara Carp Trio, SCAT, and Mahalia Barnes.
