See Blade Runner 2049 and support a great Brisbane charity
The Brisbane Basket Brigade does great work every Christmas distributing food and gifts to families in crisis or need, but they need your help to do this. On October 13 they will be holding a fundraising movie night at Palace Centro Fortitude Valley featuring the recent release movie Blade Runner 2049.
About Brisbane Basket Brigade
Every year, there are many families in Brisbane who are unable to celebrate Christmas as they simply don't have enough money for a Christmas meal or presents. The Brisbane Basket Brigade attempts to spread Christmas cheer by collecting food and presents, packaging them up and delivering them to families around the Greater Brisbane area. The families are nominated by community support organisations who have identified them as in need.
Volunteers putting together packages of food and presents for needy families at Christmas
This is the long (and I mean...really looooong) awaited sequel to the 1982 science fiction classic Blade Runner. Set 30 years after the first movie, Ryan Gosling plays a young blade runner, basically a police officer who tracks down artificial humans called replicants. He uncovers a secret that could mean the downfall of humanity and he must track down a former blade runner Rick Deckard, played by Harrison Ford,
Initial reviews from early screening sare saying that this is the sequel fans have been hoping for.
About the Deal
For the movie night fundraiser tickets are $30 and include the following 1. A ticket to see the movie (obviously) 2. Your choice of either a combo of drink and popcorn from the candy bar, a glass of wine or a beer. 3. 1 entry into the lucky door draw 3. 1 ticket in the raffle (you can buy more tickets on the night to support the Brisbane Basket Brigade)
That is pretty good value for money, especially given that it is for a good cause.
Door open at 6 pm and the movie starts at 6:30 pm. You should also be able to buy tickets on the day, but it is better to reserve them beforehand.
How to Reserve Your Tickets
If you are interested in attending, then you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, letting them know the number of tickets you require. They will respond with details on how to pay.
Other ways to help
The Brisbane Basket Brigade needs your help to support the families it helps at Christmas. This year, they are hoping to send out 500 parcels of food and presents to people in need. You can help by making cash donations, becoming a Brisbane Basket Buddy and collecting food to donate, signing up to their newsletter or volunteering over the weekend that they collect, box up and send out the parcels.
