Then take the opportunity to join Brisbane Baroque players for an intimate concert of Baroque Chamber Music in Wynnum on October 7th at 2pm. Performing on period instruments, these devoted lovers of music of the Baroque Era will bring to life these seldom heard, but beautiful instruments of the seventeenth century.

Musicians from Brisbane Baroque Players, led by concertmaster Jacqueline Webber, will perform the music of both lesser and well-known seventeenth-century composers. Some of the composers on the program include Conti, Telemann, Purcell and Gabrieli. A mixture of quartet, trio, duet and solo instrumental and vocal works, this concert will be an entertaining selection of beautiful music sure to be enjoyed by both baroque aficionados and lovers of chamber music alike.
Final year University of Queensland student Naomi Jowett is guest Soprano
Featured soloist for the concert is soprano Naomi Jowett, who is currently completing her vocal studies at the University of Queensland. She will be singing a Cantata by Italian composer, Francesco Bartolomeo Conti, who was for a time, court composer in Vienna and who composed a number of operas.
Another delightful addition to the program will be the "Suite in G" for lute by Sylvius Leopold Weiss, performed by Joseph Meyers. Weiss was one of the most important and most prolific composers of lute music in the Baroque Era, as well as being one of the best-known and most technically accomplished lutenists of his day.
Other items in the program include the Telemann Sonata for Flute in G Major performed on flauto traverso by Sandy Chou, Suite in B minor, Op.4 by Jacques Hotteterre arranged for two recorders, Ballet no. 1 from 4 Balets de village en trio, Op.52 by Boismortier and no 1 from Canzoni per Sonare - "La Spiritata' by Gabrielli, just to name a few.
The concert will be held at the Wynnum Municipal Hall, on the corner of Bay Terrace and Cedar Street, Wynnum.
