I love to travel and explore, in particular around my home town of Melbourne. One of the spots I explored lately was Brighton. There are a lot of interesting things to do and see in Brighton, even in the middle of Winter, including visiting Brighton Main Beach, Brighton Middle Beach and of course, Dendy Street Beach.

Brighton Middle Beach is where the Baths are located. There is also a pier, which is a lovely spot for a stroll as are boardwalks and bike tracks along the beach. If you are looking for something intrinsically Melbourne, head to the Dendy Street Beach and the colourful Bathing Boxes. There are also rock pools to explore here and wide sandy beaches. If beaches are not your thing, visit Bay Street shopping district and the stunning Kamesburgh Gardens.

So Brighton is a great place to spend a day out, whether by yourself, with a few friends, a romantic couples day out, or a family day. It does not have to be Summer to go to the Beach!

Love the brightly coloured bathing boxes. Are they like the old English ones where you pull them out into the water so that women can 'swim' without being unseemly in their swimming gear?

Hi Julie,
Brighton has many interesting places and buildings to see and visit, recently I took a Probus Club on a tour of the old buildings all loaded with history.
I have notes of the tour and if at any time that might help you with your next visit.
