Wine and dine in south west Sydney
Brighton Lakes Kitchen (BLK) is a great new restaurant located within the Brighton Lakes Recreation and Golf Club at Moorebank in south west Sydney. BLK offers lunch and dinner seven days a week, in a modern, relaxed and family-friendly environment.

Welcome to the Brighton Lakes Recreation and Golf Club

Brighton Lakes Recreation and Golf Club opened their new premises in mid-2016, much to the delight of the local community. With an 18 hole golf course, Pro Shop, café (open for breakfast and lunch), a bar and restaurant it is a welcome addition to the local area providing a new place to meet, have a drink or a meal and socialise with friends and family.

A new place to wine and dine

The dining area is large and you have the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. On a sunny day the alfresco dining area located on the back terrace is the perfect spot to sit and relax as it overlooks the golf course. You can choose to sit at a table or at one of the lounge areas.

The indoor dining area is large and open plan. It is possible to reserve a table beforehand or you can simply choose one on arrival.

The BLK menu includes bistro favourites such as chicken schnitzel, burgers, steak, pasta, seafood and salads. In addition to these staples there is also a good selection of Asian inspired dishes to try.

There is plenty to choose from on the BLK menu

My family & I have dined at the Brighton Lakes Kitchen on a number of occasions and have sampled the following dishes.

The Grilled Haloumi Starter Plate comes with two generous servings of haloumi along with roasted tomatoes, chargrilled eggplant, asparagus and zucchini

For starters you can try the Grilled Haloumi Plate

Other starters on the menu include garlic foccacia, Sydney Rock Oysters, Szechuan style salt and pepper squid or Prawn & Vegetable Spring Rolls

Make sure you bring along a healthy appetite as there is a wonderful variety of main meals on the menu, all served in generous proportions.

The stir-fried Singapore Noodles includes BBQ pork, prawns, capsicum, onions & bean sprouts in a tomato and very mild chilli sauce. It is a generous serving, delicious and great value at $22.00.

The Chicken & Cashew Nut dish is also a large serving and comes with Jasmine Rice.

The BLK Club Schnitzel is a crumbed chicken breast topped with avocado and bacon and a cheese sauce. It is served with beer battered chips and a generous salad for $25.

The Chicken Parmigiana is also a winner at $23.50

The Vegetarian Burger is great value at only $15.00. It includes grilled haloumi, zucchini, eggplant, caramelised onion, lettuce & tomato relish on a brioche bun. The burger is served with beer battered chips as well as a side salad.

If you are after a lighter meal you can choose from a number of salads on the menu including Chicken Caesar Salad, Thai Beef Salad and a Greek Salad.

The Kids Menu includes a choice of fish cocktails, tempura chicken nuggets, crumbed calamari rings and grilled beef sausages. What I love about the kids meals is that they are all served with a salad of tomato, lettuce and cucumber as well as chips. Kids meals are $12 each which includes an ice cream with topping and sprinkles.

If you have a sweet tooth you can choose from Sticky Date Pudding, a trio of ice-cream or from a selection of cakes and slices.

If you are dining at BLK for lunch you can order from the dinner menu or there is also a Lunch Specials menu which includes a few options for a $15 lunch. This might include a steak sandwich or a burger but my pick would have to be the Cantonese Fried Rice. It came in an enormous bowl filled with the most delicious fried rice I have ever tasted.

All of the meals we have enjoyed at BLK have been really fresh and generous servings. I love the size of the salad servings on each dish and especially on the kids meals. It has been very fast service on each occasion we have been there. You order at the counter and are given a number and the staff bring your meals to your table.

I know it's a pub but do they realise the popularity of vegetarian dishes these days? Only 1 main to choose from which is pretty basic & disappointing. There is another pub not far from them which has a whole page of vegetarian options on their menu - take note Brighton Lakes.
