Remember when you were a child and everything seemed bright, beautiful and larger than life? Imagine if you could recapture these feelings of living one extraordinary moment after another in a single night. I don't know about you, but I would relish the opportunity. For a couple of weeks this June and July the stars will shine just a little brighter at the by Regan O'Neill .

There are people in this world that bring beauty and truth to others through their creations, and hence contribute to making life a much more beautiful place. Regan O'Neill is an Australian artist who has decided to share her gift with us and showcase her individual talent at an exclusive exhibition in Brisbane.

The solo exhibition runs from Monday the 18th of June until the 2nd of July. Two weeks is ample opportunity for you to reschedule any prior engagements, slip some comfortable yet chic clothes on and venture out to the trendy London Offices at Teneriffe. If you can, do try to get to the opening night on Friday the 22nd of June between 6pm and 9pm. It is sure to be a festive occasion. Thanks to Purple Palate sponsoring the event, everyone is assured a celebratory glass of bubbly to sip on whilst wandering the gallery and soaking up the displays of artwork. Now, please allow me to guide you through a few carefully selected samples of the artist's creations.

Whether you are an avid art lover or simply someone wanting to expand your horizons and experience something out of the ordinary, the Bright Lights exhibition will offer you the opportunity to immerse yourself in another world. Regan O'Neill's world. If art is an expression of someone's experience of the world around them and a reflection of their inner self; then it is fair to say that Regan O'Neill has a rich and textured inner life. This inner creativity is translated onto the canvas in such a way as to create an emotional connection between the viewer and the painting. I admit art is a subjective and personal experience.

However, one thing is certain, great art evokes some kind of emotive response in all of us. Splashes of brilliant hues, exquisite brushwork and vivid interpretations of her subjects make Regan's paintings relatable yet simultaneously magical. Almost as if you are standing in a dream or childlike memory and experiencing the phenomenon for the first time. Kind of like a déjà vu type of experience.

Regan is able to take an assorted range of subjects, people, places and concepts; and transport them onto the canvas in a dynamic and vivid manner. This versatility is what makes her artwork so unexpectedly engaging. She describes her artistic style as, "…very diverse, fun, vibrant and bold; representing my surroundings and experiences. People and places inspire me. I'm constantly looking for things to paint. I look at the shapes and colours of trees, buildings, flowers and think how good that would look on canvas." It is this artistic emulation of life that creates such a powerful emotional response. Colourful, electric and sometimes a little bit eccentric. Looking at Regan's paintings, you can't help wondering… wouldn't it be wonderful if life imitated art?

So brighten up these chilly wintery days with a dash of colour and a sprinkle of magic. The opportunity is just waiting for you at the .
