Brief Encounter - Laura and Alec become acquainted in the refreshment room of a railway station. Although content in their marriages, they fall in love and embark on a brief, passionate affair. Riddled with guilt, they decide to stop seeing each other. Their final parting is marred by the intrusiveness of a talkative acquaintance.
We Were Dancing - Louise, a married woman, and Karl, a bachelor, fall madly in love while dancing at a country club in the South Pacific. During the night, Louise wins her freedom and they quickly make plans to travel to Australia. However, in the cold light of the morning they realise they have absolutely nothing in common.

This special preview screening supports bereaved parents and siblings following the death of a child. The Compassionate Friends Victoria supports and helps families find meaning out of the tragedy. They provide a 24 hour, 365 days a year grief line and support groups right across Victoria. They also run memorial and social events (see upcoming workshop details in the image above) to connect families with those who truly understand what they're going through.
They also run an art therapy group and send out over 3,000-anniversary cards each year to let grieving families know their loved one is never forgotten. This fundraiser will help towards providing these services and more. An enjoyable evening is to be had with family and friends, coupled with a warm and fuzzy feeling from the knowledge that you're helping those in need, going through a hard time in their lives.
