Situated on the southern end of the main stretch of the Margaret River townsite is the iconic picture-perfect . The timeless appeal of Bridgefield's traditional accommodations is seamlessly combined by tasteful renovations with modern comforts and conveniences.
Each of her eight accommodations, in three buildings, has private bathroom facilities, reverse-cycle air-conditioning, electric blankets, bar refrigerator, and separate tea- and coffee-making facilities for those moments of contemplation. Complimentary wi-fi is available to send the modern day postcard home. Bridgefield's two-storey Gallery building includes three guest accommodations, each richly timber panelled.
I was lucky enough very recently to stay here whilst enjoying a much earnt holiday in Margaret River - staying in The Champagne Room.
The building where you find the Champagne Room only consists of three rooms total. On the bottom floor, at the foot of the stairs, is The Merlot room, which (according to the website) has its own enclosed courtyard. The Merlot Room guests also get the use of the downstairs lounge and kitchenette (although my partner and I did use some of the bits and pieces)[BREAK]
At the top of the stairs are the other two rooms - The Champagne Room and The Forrest View Suite. The Champagne Room is very comfortable - queen size bed, large bathroom with a jet bath (spa) and shower and a balcony with chairs to sit on and watch the world go by. One thing I do have to let you know is that there are bins outside the window, not so much of an issue when they are been filled during the day, but the local rubbish truck turned up at 5.30am on Friday morning to empty them!
Across from The Champagne Room is the Forrest View Suite. Consummate for the couple wishing to experience the impressiveness of the country from the comfort and convenience of town, the Forest View Suite has spacious open living with plentiful period character and dual access French doors to a large private balcony terrace with two outdoor settings; large bedroom with triple-aspect French doors to the wrap-around verandah with views of the surrounding forest; bathroom with a view from its spa bath, with shower, toilet and vanity; and large-windowed kitchen, so you cook for yourself if you want, with beautiful local hardwood cabinetry.[BREAK]
Getting around from this location is easy. If you don't want to drive you can easily walk from the guest house to the other end of the main street of Margaret River in about ten minutes - so easy to get to the various eateries, Coles or Woolworths.
Highly recommend this location - and if the above rooms don't suit your needs, there are others at this location.
