You're guaranteed a great day out
I don't have a bad word to say about Bribie Island Boat Charters. In fact, I would highly recommend them because we had the best time on the gorgeous Pumicestone Passage at Bribie Island.

We booked a half day four person fishing boat from 7am to 12pm for a Saturday. As we arrived at Spinnaker Sound Marina, we were greeted by a welcoming hello from Brendon and Robyn, the owners. We were a little early, but they didn't seem to mind at all. Soon enough, we got our paperwork sorted, bait ready, and boat loaded with our fishing gear. We originally booked for a four person fishing boat, but were pleasantly surprised to have it upgraded to a six person one. It was great to have the extra room.

The fishing boats are made of polypropylene and are extremely safe, clean and comfortable. As well as marine carpets and cushioned seating, there is also a shade canopy so you don't need to worry about being in the sun all day.

Robyn gave us the rundown about the boat, showed us the map, where we were and tips on where we could go. There was also a clear chart showing us where we were allowed to travel.

So off we went at 6.30am. We decided to go into Ningi Creek and try our luck there before going back to Pumicestone Passage stopping at different spots. We caught two flatheads that were big enough to take home. We also caught lots of brim, however didn't have any luck with crabs.

It was a beautiful day and we all had a ball. You don't need to have a boat licence to hire these self-drive fishing boats. They are a bit slow, but we found that we had plenty of time to zip around the place trying different spots. It was so relaxing just chilling out on the water.

As well as fishing boats, Bribie Island Boat Charters also hires out BBQ boats (8 person & 12 person). You do have to bring your own fishing gear, but they've got bait, ice and tackle for sale as well as rods for hire.

Here's a quick guide to their prices:

BBQ Boat
12 person: half day $260; full day $390
8 person: half day $190; full day $285

Fishing Boat
4/6 person: half day $90; full day $140; evening $130

So if you're looking for a relaxing day out, why not hire a boat from Bribie Island Boat Charters? With Brendon and Robyn's friendly, enthusiastic service, fantastic fishing, amazing views and super comfortable boat, you're guaranteed to have an awesome time. All you need is the perfect weather.
