The Briars at Mount Martha on the Mornington Peninsula, is a beautiful conservation park which is steeped in local history, flora and fauna on 230 hectares. They host events year-round, and upcoming on **Saturday 26 April 2025 from 12 pm to 4 pm is the Briars Garden Party at 450 Nepean Highway, Mount Martha. Entry is free. Surrounded by majestic oaks, heritage roses and views of the valley, The Briars homestead gardens are the perfect spot to bring your rug, your chairs and settle in for an afternoon of fun, relaxation and charming entertainment, while you enjoy your picnic.

If you're not in the mood for a BYO picnic, and want a break from the kitchen, or just want a little picnic top up, the event has got you covered with sweet and savoury treats available, as they're joined by Milkbar Cafe, Peninsula Scones, and Mock Red Hill. Farey Emma will be providing face painting for the kids, and you can make your own colourful flower wands too. Bring your own teacup and plant a garden seed to take home. There'll be games on the lawn for big and little kiddies alike, and the original grass tennis lawn, which was a part of the Homestead Gardens, will be brought to life. Enjoy a playful hit and see what vintage racquets used to look like. There'll also be guided tours of the heritage outbuildings. All the while, you'll be entertained with live music by Kissing Harriet nd The Calmer Miles. This event is part of the National Trust, Australian Heritage Festival .
