Cinema is a fine way to reach the nether regions of our world. Global travel without leaving home. A cinematic peek into other cultures. Whatever the adage, BREC's International Film Festival's winter edition is bound to set you on course for a journey of discovery. Having hosted independent cinema for 26 years, this year, BREC gives you a mix of festival favourites and award-winning films.
The festival runs from Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 July 2018 and has 3 sessions running each day; then Thursday 2 to Sat 4 August in the Cube Theatre. Drinks and snacks will be available from the Sky Bar, and if you're looking to save a little, check out the BREC Cinema Saver Booklet of 5 tickets that can be used at any BREC Cinema screening.
There's a tale about a man and his elephant on a road trip across Thailand; a gripping story of a family and society on the edge of collapse in Moscow; a man and a museum in crisis; a refugee that goes underground; a party that ends with blood on the floor; and a warm-hearted romantic comedy about a middle-aged woman. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Head to the website for more details and to watch the trailers.
