Twihards and normal people everywhere are calling Breaking Dawn Part 2 the best of the series.

I saw it last night, and I totally agree. While I am more of an interested observer, I confess to buying all the books and some of the movies. The literally timeless story of an uncompromising love without conditions is what a lot of us care about, more than the vampires, the werewolfs, the dude with the abs, or the non-stellar acting.

I think even those most ardent about the series can admit that the dialogue has never been a strong suit, yet this final installment was finally worthy of the books. It was smooth and to the point without compromising it's romance novel appeal.

The perfect music of the first one was a huge sell point in that film. It was wisely re-introduced into the wedding scene of the first Breaking Dawn. After that, the music was mediocre and even at times in the way. In this final movie, the music fit gracefully with the film. The potentially icky wolf imprinting thing was handled well.

All three of the saga's young principals have grown as actors. Kellan Lutz did well, and was given a lot more screen time. I hate being a spoiler, so I'll just say that the big twist near the end added a lot to the film.

As a side note, I went Gold Pass at the Crown. Honestly, it would have been epic whatever movie was playing. Why are these Gold Pass things not offered in America?

Anyway, Breaking Dawn Part 2 is a well-crafted ending to this strangely beautiful, remarkablly popular story.

Playing in theaters now.
