Breaking Bad Soundtrack Review

Less than one month to the last episodes (or 2nd part of Season 5, if you prefer) of
Breaking Bad starts and I'm already counting!
It's not just pure enthusiasm for someone who worships this show but also some sadness to know it's coming to the end. Probably 99% of population on earth knows Breaking Bad is truly a masterpiece and I feel sorry for the others 1% who never had the chance yet to watch it.
Produced and directed by the genius mind named
Vince Gilligan, the whole idea behind the story of a chemistry teacher, who after finding out he has a terminal cancer, decides to make some cash (for his family) by being a meth amphetamine drug dealer looks surreal.
It's actually surreal but what also amazes me about Breaking Bad is its soundtrack. Everybody knows behind a very good TV show there is always an excellent soundtrack. Grey's Anatomy and House DC are some good examples.
Breaking Bad takes its music seriously; it is another level of interaction between the characters and narrative. Way before I listened to Negro Y Azul, by Los Cuantes de Sinaloa, on season two, I knew music was another strong feature of this show.
This very cool (and disturbing) scene which is actually a kind of video made for the song just emphasised better the idea. It's that moment when you realise
Walter White (Bryan Cranston) became
Heisenberg and it's too late to deny it. He meets his partner in crime (who was also as a previous student),
Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) in between and the rest is, literally, history!
In Breaking Bad, music speaks for itself, and it's possible to connect important scenes and characters with some amazing tracks. It's a very eclectic soundtrack, by the way. rap; world music - including some wicked Brazilian songs; reggae and rock are spread all over the five seasons of the show.
To highlight some of these great songs:
1-
A Horse with no name by America
2-
Truth by Alexander Ebert
3-
Nine Years by Ticklah
4-
Ginza Samba by Vince Geraldi and Bola Sete
5-
DLZ by TV on the Radio
6-
Tamacun by Rodrigo Y Gabriela
7-
Deixa Pra la by Bronx River Parkway
8-
Peanuts Vendor by Alvin Red Tyler
9-
Good Morning Freedom by Blue Mink
10-
Koop Island Blue by Koop
Breaking Bad, final season, is back on August 11, in the US. There is plenty of time for catching up with all previous seasons and enjoy the amazing music of the show.
