Event:

West Australian Music teams up with Boffins Books as Midnight Oil frontman Peter Garrett visits Perth to launch his long-awaited memoir.

Burning one of the most fascinating trails through Australian rock music history, Peter Garrett will visit Perth to launch his autobiography 'Big Blue Sky', to be published by Allen & Unwin in October.

WAM is excited to partner with Boffins Books to host Peter for a breakfast event, in conversation with a soon to be announced high profile local identity.

In Big Blue Sky, Peter Garrett writes lyrically and openly about his life, sharing his thoughts, memories and private challenges, as well as giving us his perspective on many legendary Australian events. Hear the stories firsthand of Midnight Oil's early days before their success, what it was like when success finally came and Peter's time in politics.

From his idyllic childhood growing up in the northern suburbs of Sydney, to an early interest in equality and justice; from the height of 1960s culture shock at ANU to fronting iconic Australian band Midnight Oil; from his time as a galvanising activist for the environment to being the only unaligned Cabinet Minister in two Labor governments, Garrett has an extraordinary story to tell.

Tickets cost $60 or $99 with a copy of his autobiography and includes a cooked breakfast. Book sales and signing will take place at the event, and tickets are strictly limited.

Tickets can be purchased online at trybooking.com/INQZ
