Bread N Butter was top of the agenda when I asked my fabulous hairdressers were a nice alternative place would be for birthday drinks and dinner.
They serve a variety of wood fired pizzas, all with thin bases and gluten free options, along with a Bob Marley ambiance and a panorama view of Kirra beach.
There's also live music on most nights as well, check out their Facebook for latest information on themed party nights and local DJ's gracing the funky red bar.
Alcohol is BYO but they are known for their amazing cocktails so you need not worry - unless you're a fan of the red, there is a bottle shop a few steps away. The Bar is located just on the Esplanade at Kirra before the surf club and the curve around to Coolie.
The bartenders here are experienced 'mixologists', some have even studied the art of mixing a cocktail in Germany back in the 90's. The menu is abundant with great tastes and the pizzas are generous in size. They are all thin-based and range from $19-22.50; they are enough to share between 2 or 3 people. Salads of Italian dressings, Rocket Leaf and Parmesan Cheese and Balsamic and nice choices also.
The Fire Grilled Eggplant, Flame Roasted Pumpkin, Green Bean, King Island Fetta, Basil Pesto Pizza.
Basically there is a lot of Italian, French and Brazilian flavour, the chef reigns from Brazil so you can enjoy a European experience in our own beachy backyard.
There were a lot of 'loving life' quotes in French accents spilling out of these jovial guys whilst serving us, and on a beautiful spring Sunday afternoon you can understand why.
There's also great artwork and a warm atmosphere as you're surrounded by burgundy walls, vintage lamps and funky furnishing that fills the homely bar. They also support budding artists so if you have any artwork to showcase, shoot them an e-mail to have your work displayed in a fine gallery.
It's a classy, vintage and cruisy dining experience with an exotic mix right on the Coast.
I wasn't lucky enough to look upstairs, but I'm sure the venue room looks like a Melbourne style roof top bar and would be a great venue for a private function.
We love this place too - although sadly we roll to a different beat to you as we love it because it is so family friendly. We get there early (yep, we're there right on opening at 5.30, never thought it'd come to this but it has) and the waiters/owners make a huge fuss of the kids and are very accommodating to their fads. Big thumbs up from me!
