Brazilian Passionfruit Mousse Recipe

Believe me, it's a worthy pudding. Not just because this is my family's favourite pudding for all special date or event but also because it's an easy and quick recipe to prepare.

In Brazil it's quite easy to find passion fruit at supermarkets or food markets. Here, I had some difficult to find this fruit once, so you can also substitute the passion fruit for lime (same quantity), if you prefer!

The ingredients are:

8 passion fruits
1 can of condensed milk
1 can of cream

(Note: If you need to double the recipe use 2 cans of condensed milk and cream).

How to prepare:

Cut the passion fruits in a half and with a spoon put the content of the fruit in a bowl. Use a strainer to separate the juice from the skin. The next step is mixing the condensed milk and the cream together with the juice in the same bowl.

After mixing carefully with a spoon, put the mixture in a serving bowl (or separate dishes, if you prefer) and refrigerate the cream for about 1 hour before serving.

This delicious dessert is an excellent option for a diner party pudding and it's also a great combination served together with a piece of chocolate sponge.

Yummy and sounds so easy to make. Passionfruit are available now at alot of supermarkets. Will have to try your pudding for a luncheon I've been invited to - being European, I have to take something along too. Dessert's always good.

I can't imagine how this stands up as a mousse without any whipped cream or egg whites or gelatine added....? Refrigeration alone will not make it set. It sounds like it would make a nice dessert soup, though.
