Over the past few years, there's been a board game boom. And, it's not all
Monopoly and
Scrabble either. New games are being created and people are flocking to them as a new and fun way to socialise with their family and friends. In 2016, the sales of board games globally were approximately $9.6 billion!
The board game explosion has not only led to the creation of new and interesting games but also to the formation of cafes and bars that are focussed on providing a specialised space to play in.
Brainhackr is one of those new businesses who has opened their doors to this huge new market.

BrainHackr opened their store in late 2017 and have grown enormously in popularity and have gained a steady and loyal following.
BrainHackr Board Game Bar and Cafe is
located on Prospect Road, just south of Regency Road. They have a library of 300 games which are available for play and for purchase. You can play a game for 3 hours and pay just $5 per person. This is a great way to try new games - many of which are exclusives and not commonly available to buy in regular retail stores. The guys at BrainHackr support new games on funding sites like
Kickstarter and purchase new games as often as possible and they play all of them! This means that you'll only ever get the best games to play, but they'll also be able to help you get started.

The games at BrainHackr are largely for the adult audience. They have games and puzzles that help with memory, coordination, problem-solving skills and they're all a heap of fun.
Modern board games assist with life skills too. The games help with problem-solving skills and reasoning and logic, which are incredibly valuable tools to have in the workplace. There's also a huge interest in games that have an emphasis on strategy and cooperation, rather than luck and competition.
