This 500-metre avenue runs between Whitehorse Road and Mt. Dandenong Road. (Melways map 50. A.7)

Judging by the front fences, it is a combination of old and new. There were picket, wood and wire fences representing the well-established houses and flowers and garden ornaments representing the new in many units.

Many flowers were evident. Only two rose bushes, an anemone, several camellia trees, and many correa bushes.

Being autumn, many trees had turned into their autumn colours, including a liquid amber.

A ground-feeding noisy miner was successful in finding something on the roadway. Another tree bourne noisy miner was seen as was a currawong in another tree.

A ground feeding magpie took flight and landed in a nearby tree.

Despite the short street, three walkers were seen as it is probably a short cut between Braeside and Whitehorse.

More flowers seen were a crowea bush, which is endemic to Australia, a plumbago bush and two unidentified plants.

At Whitehorse Road end is the rear of the Karralyka Theatre with nice gardens, some mature gum trees, and some lights.

Among the foliage is a white signpost with a metal plaque. The subject of the sign is The Borough of Ringwood being formed on 18 October 1924, (almost 100 years ago) following severance from the Lillydale Shire. This would explain the naming of the nearby Old Lilydale Road.

A couple of garden beds were seen in a couple of the older gardens.

A new plant (to me) was encountered - a Mexican orange blossom.

Some nice examples of grevilleas were growing in one garden.

An escapee was caught coming through a fence. One of many aeonium plants was photographed and a spider plant was escaping via a bucket.

Three small snowmen decorated one small garden of a unit.

A short walk, but long in pleasure, particularly on a sunny autumn morning.
