Stumbling across an empty public park can be a pretty rare thing on any given weekend, especially on a beautiful, sunny day, and especially on the Sunshine Coast. So it came as a bit of a shock for me to find Bradman Avenue Foreshore totally unoccupied on a clear and bright day recently. Come and kick back under some shady trees by the
Maroochy River in one of the most underrated parks in the region.

Bradman Avenue Foreshore - all yours to enjoy on your own if you're lucky
There's so much open space here it would probably be an ideal location for a music festival. Bring your mates down with a ball of some kind and you'll run yourselves out in no time.

More than enough shade
There's an abundance of trees here offering plenty of shade from the sun - making it the more than ideal place for a picnic. I could quite easily picture myself having a feed then taking a nap under any of the luscious trees, it was just that peaceful. The park is also a great place to ride your bike. A windy track has been laid out throughout the grounds.

The park's playground is simple but should do
Those with a couple of restless rugrats will find a playground at the northern end of the park. Don't get overly excited though, all they've got here is a swing set and a seesaw. This could be a good area to set up for the day. There were plenty of picnic tables (including an undercover one) available as well as two electric barbecues just waiting to cook you a classic Australian sausage sizzle. The
park toilets are also located nearby.

The park is full of beautiful trees
Come down to Bradman Avenue Foreshore some weekend soon and hopefully you'll have the place all to yourself as I did.
