In 2014, Culture Club announced they were back, set to release a new album (Tribes is still on its way) and a go on massive world tour. Then Boy George suffered a serious throat condition and the tour was cancelled. He didn't really mean to hurt us.
Fast forward to July 2015 and ta-dah, the band was finally able to start performing again and now they're set to head to Australia. FINALLY! Here's a taste of what you can expect. The following is Culture Club performing for iHeart Radio in March.
Can you believe it's been longer than 15 years since Culture Club came Down Under? Since then, Boy George has established himself as a DJ, fashion designer and photographer. He's also become a judge on the UK version of The Voice. Below, check out his reaction to one of the contestants singing a Culture Club song.
Reviews of Culture Club's recent shows have been mostly positive. The Telegraph said "it was a joyous reminder of a golden age in British pop", while NY Daily News said, despite Boy George's changing voice (he's been open about vocal damage), he was still an amazing entertainer: "George has never had to rely on vocals alone to beguile us."
Dannii Minogue will support the band in Melbourne. Bjorn Again will perform ABBA favourites in Sydney and Brisbane and Kids In The Kitchen will support at all Australian shows.
