The Boxwood Queenscliff Concert is a feature event in the annual Boxwood Festival Australia (22-25 Feb 2019), which is a long weekend of immersion, musical discovery and fun with traditional and early music. This event has been calling Queenscliff its Australian home since 2015, and for the first time this year will partner with Queenscliff Primary School to bring a day of workshops in song, movement, tin whistle & instrument making to the students.
The Concert is eagerly anticipated and features performances by some of the most exciting and notable performers in traditional and baroque music. This event is held at the Queenscliff Town Hall, 50 Learmonth St, Queenscliff on Saturday 23 February 2019 from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. Get your tickets here.
For details of the whole Music Weekend running from 22-25 Feb 2019, check the Boxwood Australia website. You'll find the schedule, registration info and pricing structure. There are also Work-Study positions available. If you'd like to participate, you need to complete a registration form. Help out with initial food prep, dining room set-up for meals, kitchen clean-up, box office, publicity and logistical support on a rotational schedule and you could reduce the cost of attending while meeting lots of amazing people and having fun.
Boxwood Australia is a magical experience, however, there's very limited enrolment and small class sizes, so please register early. The venues for classes include the historic Whitehall Lodge, and St Georges Church Hall, both in the heart of Queenscliff, just a short stroll to the waterfront. The course is suitable for those with basic playing experience and up, and caters to a wide range of abilities. It's designed to challenge as well as inspire.
