Boxing Day is one of the highlights on the sailing calendar and it is becoming somewhat of a tradition for those not making the voyage south to come out for the day on the fabulous James Craig.

This year marks the 72nd anniversary of the annual race.

Join in the spectacle by coming aboard the James Craig for the day. The ship is fully licensed and good, solid yachties meals are provided. At 8.30am, the James Craig will proceed to sea off Sydney Heads to take up the best vantage point possible (subject to conditions) to watch the yachts sail by down the coast. After the yachts have departed, James Craig will continue its normal sailing at sea (time permitting). It will return to Sydney Harbour at 4pm.

Guests will enjoy Afternoon Tea, Morning Tea and Lunch as part of the experience.

The minimum age is 12 and above and guests should arrive at Wharf 7, 58 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont, NSW 2009 at 8:15am.

Tickets are now on sale through Sydney Heritage Fleet. Early bookings are advised: click here to proceed with a booking. Tickets are priced between $75 and $195.

All guests should wear sensible footwear and bring a windproof jacket. Stilettos and sharp-heeled shoes strictly prohibited.

How to get to Wharf 7:

  • Walk from Town Hall station across the historic Pyrmont Bridge (15 min).

  • Darling Harbour ferry from Wharf 5 at Circular Quay and alight at Pyrmont Bay.
