The Church Street Boxing Gym offers boxing classes for men and women and has been in operation since 1997. They have boxing and Muay Thai classes as well as wrestling. You don't need experience and you don't have to engage in sparring. There are a variety of membership packages as well as day passes and private lessons. According to their website, many people have trained at the gym over the years including Lennox Lewis. The gym is open Monday through Friday from 7am to 9:45pm and Saturday from 10am to 4pm; they are closed on Sundays.
Mendez Boxing New York
At Mendez Boxing New York, first time users to the gym get a free private boxing lesson. The trainers have 30 years of fighting experience and are either trainers on the professional or amateur level. According to the website, a one hour high intensity workout can help you burn up to 1000 calories. The gym is open Monday through Friday from 6am to 10pm, Saturday from 9am to 4pm and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.

Women's World of Boxing
There are three different set schedules – Intro to Boxing, Beginner and Advanced – so you'll get the proper training required. There is a wide age range of members at the gym – sparring is not required. The workout essentially consists of jumping rope, shadow boxing, drills, mitt work and bags. As the name suggests, the gym is for women and girls only – especially ideal for those who prefer not to work out in a co-ed environment. They are open Monday through Saturday – hours range depending on which level you participate in. Single classes or monthly payments are available.
