Event:
A Fun Family Event In The Heart Of Perth Cultural Centre
For an inquisitive creative child, the whole world is a playground. Wherever children go and whoever they're with, life is an exciting game with so much to discover and learn. Dress-up and pretend games are a particularly effective form of play as they help to prepare children for adult life, familiarising them with various roles in the big wide world, and coming up next Sunday, one of Perth's favourite role-play events will be taking place at the Western Australian Museum.

An ingenious event that provides youngsters with a fascinating glimpse into the wonderful world of architecture, Box City is an initiative of the Australian Institute of Architects. Children aged from four to twelve can become architects for the day, and cooperatively creative their own fabulous cardboard box city, all the while learning about the practical processes that are involved in urban development. They can request a permit, go shopping at the hardware store, meet the building inspector and work with the city planner. Not to mention, get their hands grubby with the fun practical stuff, such as helping out with the building activities. If you're looking for a free, fun and truly unique activity for your brood this weekend, this event certainly ticks all the right boxes.

Box City will be taking place in Hackett Hall at the Western Australian Museum, from 10am until 2pm on Sunday, November 8th. Situated on James Street in Perth Cultural Centre, the museum is just a short walk from both the Perth railway station and a bus stop on nearby Beaufort Street. No registration is required, so all you have to do is turn up. Best of all, the event is totally free of charge, making it very affordable family entertainment.
