I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
Visit Blacktown Bowling Club on the last Sunday of the month for a free family-friendly event. The name Bowls, Beats and Bargains says it all as you can play a game of bowls, shop at a variety of market stalls and listen to some retro disco beats.
From 10am, families and friends are welcome to join in the outdoor fun. A range of market stalls selling clothes, plants, jewellery, candles, toys, art and homemade goodies are situated in front of a large jumping castle and next to an area set aside for pony rides. There is plenty to keep children occupied with the free jumping castle, $5 pony rides, free face painting and a great indoor play area. Adults can indulge in a cool drink on the deck or have a go at barefoot bowls for $5 or rock along to some cool tunes. The onsite restaurant serves burger specials and if you have a large group, booking on 9622 1589 is advised.
When it gets too warm outside, there is plenty of seating inside the air-conditioned club, where cold drinks and food are available overlooking the action. There are toilet facilities inside the club and plenty of parking behind the club and in the surrounding streets.
If you have something to market, contact Monique Annetts from AMA Event Management on 1300385838 or email firstname.lastname@example.org as stalls are available at $50 for a 3m x 3m space. The day I attended there were plenty of happy people looking for a bargain enjoying the great atmosphere in the lovely setting.
