Poke Bowls Are Here To Stay
I was out enjoying the charming vibe of Balmain on Darling Street when I came across Balmain's newest, hippest, and freshest restaurant in town.

is a Japanese inspired fusion Hawaiian Poke Bowl restaurant in the heart of Darling Street.

In Hawaii, Poke Bowls are high-quality raw fish cubed served over rice with delicious seasonings. BOWL.R takes this incredibly healthy dish to a whole new level.

You can order your poke bowl with fresh vegetables, buckwheat noodles, even vegan. I spoke with the founder Melissa, and she uses the highest quality ingredients and fish, choosing to use ocean trout rather than salmon because of the delicious flavour.

I was in a vegan mood and decided to try the "Mr. Miyagi" poke bowl and was I in for a treat. It's filled with cauliflower, brown rice/lettuce mix, carrot, coriander, corn, house kraut, edamame, pickled red onion, seaweed salad, crushed wasabi peas, roasted sesame seeds, chilli threads and miso yuzu dressing.

The dressing and delicious toppings were absolutely mouthwatering and I know I will be back again and again for the taste sensations. After my meal, I felt so healthy and vibrant and surprisingly full.

BOWL.R is offering wholesome fast food which will satisfy everyone's taste buds. In addition to the extremely popular poke bowls, there is a vegan mylk bar with enticing vegan ice creams, Saturday and Sunday brunch with a full brunch menu. They even have delectable snacks if you're peckish, edamame guacamole and gluten free kaarrage (fried) chicken. Go here to check out the full menu.

Kaarage Chicken so delicious

You can feel really good about eating at BOWL.R because the majority of the food is locally sourced, with sustainable packaging. The cuisine is also in the "blue zone" philosophy which is more of a plant-based diet and less heavy on meat which promotes environmental sustainability.

I left BOWL.R completely satisfied and also eagerly awaiting my next visit to Balmain's most awesome new poke restaurant. As they say at BOWL.R, "Come get poked." You won't regret it.

Bowl.R is great but I feel it is more a cafe than a restaurant as mentioned in the article
