According to the event website, "Bottle Water Free Day is a day of action to promote healthy and sustainable bottled water free communities. It was founded to raise awareness about the damages to our environment that bottled water creates, as well as to raise awareness about the privatisation of water. Macquarie is celebrating BWFD as part of the Tap It campaign, which encourages the consumption of public tap water over the consumption of bottled water."
Come to the Macquarie University campus in North Ryde on 19 March 2014 with your refillable water bottle or join the celebrations at the Central Courtyard. From 11.30 – 1.30pm, free water bottles and water fountain maps will be handed out. There will also be tap vs. bottled water tastings, and active recruitment of people to sign the bottled water free pledge.
You can also upload a picture of you with your refillable drink bottle to the campaign Facebook page to go in the draw to win one of ten Keep Cups.
